“Being online makes the courses convenient and affordable, but not easy. Our instructors insist on mastery of the subject, insuring their personal integrity and the competency of the student,” said Eleanor Blazer, president of Equine Studies Institute. Equine Studies Institute has been involved with equine care and training education for more than 30 years, starting as a publisher of horse books and short courses. Today Equine Studies Institute provides the curriculum for the equine study programs of Breyer State University, Stonebridge Associated Colleges-UK, Paradise Valley Community College, New Mexico State University, University of South Carolina Aiken and Allegheny College of Maryland.

Equine Studies Institute curriculum is designed to be practical and applicable to all equestrian disciplines. The focus of Equine Studies Institute curriculum is the eventual success of the individual student within all facets of the horse industry.

“The horse industry has languished for years without educational standards or the licensing of those who call themselves professionals. No longer–the future belongs to those women and men who achieve academic excellence. In today’s world, to earn more, you must learn more,” she said. “And in this case, as all situations, those who learn more provide greater care, improve conditions, generate new ideas and stimulate progress.”

“Being a Certified Professional Horse Trainer identifies you as a person with the knowledge and skills to care and train horses owned by others. Clients are drawn to those with credentials, and appreciate and feel confident leaving their horse with you,” Blazer noted.

“Success,” said Blazer, “is being good, getting better and then becoming the best.”
